In this highly interactive presentation, Darrell Mullis teaches executives a deeper understanding of the three financial statements and how to use them as strategic decision making tools. Participants are engaged creating the three statements from typical transactions for a sample business. Key issues covered include: ” Purpose, structure and relationships of the statements, three types of cash flow, principles of accrual accounting, debt vs. equity capital, cost of sales vs. operating expenses, profit vs. cash, and dealing with a cash flow problem.

In the final hour of the program, Darrell teaches management’s role in the business cycle and how to use the statements to improve strategic performance. This process lets executives analyze whether they are spending their time on strategic or tactical issues in their company. The final few minutes provides an overview of the 3 bottom lines and how to improve profit, cash flow and return on invested capital.
